The LOD gets a new look

On 20 June 2022, the new website of the Lëtzebuerger Online Dictionary (LOD) was presented to the public with a new look and expanded functionalities. Last year, more than 10 million articles were consulted in the dictionary of the Zenter fir of Lëtzebuerger Sprooch.

In addition to the aesthetic overhaul, a number of elements have been integrated to serve the digital inclusion of all citizens. In collaboration with the association Hörgeschädigten Beratung SmH, for example, videos in sign language have been added for users with special needs. The new site can still be viewed entirely in dyslexic typeface (OpenDyslexic).

Furthermore, new intuitive features make the LOD content even more accessible. The search function has been extended and improved, the layout for mobile phones and tablets has been optimised, error tolerance has been enhanced, autocompletion has been extended, it is now easier to send comments and remarks, and much more. These are important steps towards a digitally inclusive society.

The official communication can be found at (in French): https://gouvernement.lu/fr/actualites/toutes_actualites/communiques/2022/06-juin/21-lod-neie-look.html
