2nd National Digital Inclusion Day

On 17 May, the Ministry for Digitalisation highlighted the topic of digital inclusion at the 2nd National Digital Inclusion Day, this time held at the Forum Geesseknäppchen.

The day unfolded in several stages. In the morning, associations working in the field of inclusion and their members were invited to participative workshops on topics such as digital citizenship, digital challenges, cybersecurity in everyday life and digital learning. These workshops allowed an exchange of experiences that were conducive to the development and refinement of solutions adapted to the topics addressed. The associations were also able to compare their actions in the field during these exchanges.

Then, the whole digital inclusion community was able to attend the Interdisciplinary Forum on Digital Inclusion, during which a round table brought together several speakers to discuss digital accessibility and inclusive design.

In his opening speech at the Forum, the Minister delegate for Digitalisation, Marc Hansen, referred to a study commissioned from LISER that provides a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the factors that lead to a possible digital divide. Some of the study's recommendations are already being implemented by the Ministry for Digitalisation; the others will be analysed in the coming weeks.

Marc Hansen also praised the participants of the Interdisciplinary Forum on Digital Inclusion for their commitment in the field. He also thanked those who responded to the call for projects launched by the Ministry a few months ago for digital inclusion projects. In June, the winners of this call for projects will be rewarded with the 2023 Digital Inclusion Award.

The National Digital Inclusion Day ended with the first Digital Inclusion Fair in Luxembourg. A large audience came to this event to meet about twenty associations, companies and public entities that came to answer questions from users of their digital solutions.
