Facilitating digital access
Access to digital technology is an essential condition for inclusion. It is not just a matter of having equipment or a connection, but also requires accessible services, content and interfaces that enable independent and secure use for all, regardless of age, social situation or disability. Digital access and accessibility are key levers for reducing inequalities and ensuring full and fair participation in the digital society.
Initiatives
To facilitate access to digital technology, the National Action Plan for Digital Inclusion is rolling out concrete initiatives aimed at removing material, technical, linguistic and ergonomic barriers. These initiatives help to improve access to essential services, enhance digital and linguistic accessibility, and integrate the needs of the public into the design of inclusive solutions. Awareness-raising and accessibility training activities accompany these measures to ensure effective, autonomous and equitable use of digital technology.
To facilitate digital access, seven objectives have been defined:
- Improve access to digital technology
- Support access to equipment
- Improve access to essential services
- Strengthen digital accessibility
- Raise awareness of and provide training in digital accessibility
- Develop linguistic accessibility in the digital sphere
- Involve users in the design of accessible solutions
